A name like any other

When Leif Werling, our founder, and creator of LAYPH, was living abroad, the pronunciation of his name was always the cause of challenge.

In German-speaking countries, his name quickly became LIFE – because of the order of ei and the sound that makes in German.
In English-speaking countries, his name became LEAF – for the exact same reason; the pronunciation of ei in English.

Although both of these pronunciation are beautiful in their own right, it was not his name.  Leif often pondered as to why it was so hard to pronounce his name correctly. Even though the answer never came to him, he did come up with another spelling.

LAYPH pronounced Leif.  If that helps.
